Beat the Bloat

We all deal with it and we all try to hide it. First things first, some people are genetically born with the WORLDS flattest stomach no matter what.. I mean NO MATTER WHAT and that’s ok, but if you’re reading this I’m guessing you’re not one of those people. With that being said, let’s talk about what can cause bloating:

  1. Constipation, the congestion happening in your colon gives your gut bacteria more time to ferment which then leads gas to build up.

  2. Overeating, we’ve all been there. But let’s be real, how much do you think your stomach and organs can really stretch? Not as much as we sometimes think.

  3. Starting your period, about a week before your period levels of progesterone increase which lead to fluid retention which is why you may feel and look bloated.

  4. Being dehydrated, it causes you to retain fluid. Your body holds on to the fluid to prevent this dehydration from happening again. However, dehydration and electrolyte imbalance also stops your digestion and makes it hard for you to have a BM (bowel movement.)

Hope these have helped you figure out where your bloat could be coming from! Of course, severe bloating that occurs often might require medical attention.
